Our Story

Since 1971, we have have been providing nice, safe, sanitary, affordalbe housing to qualified households.  We are the only housing authority in Kansas to completely modernize all of our properties in the last decade and we have a full time maintenance staff.

Mission Statement

“IT SHALL BE THE MISSION OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF CLAY CENTER TO ADVOCATE FOR AND DEVELOP, MANAGE AND MAINTAIN PROPERTIES AND PROGRAMS THAT PROVIDE SAFE, SANITARY, AFFORDABLE HOUSING TO QUALIFIED, VERY LOW, LOW, AND MODERATE INCOME RESIDENTS IN CLAY CENTER, KANSAS.”

Smoking Policy

We do not tolerate smoking or vaping on any of our properties including common areas and apartments.  Smoking or vaping is only allowed in clearly designated areas.

Senior Services

 Friendship Meals, a program of the North Central Kansas Flint Hills Area Agency on Aging in cooperation with the Housing Authority and the Clay County Senior Task Force provides Noon meals for the residents on weekdays.  In addition to the meals, they also provide activities such as exercise classes, morning coffee club, guest speakers, entertainment, and socialization.  Public Transportation is also available to take you to the doctor, hospital, dentist, chiropractor, restaurants, shopping, and more.

Meals on Wheels 

The kitchen for Clay Center Meals on Wheels is located in Parkview Plaza.  They provide weekday Noon meals to elderly and handicapped households in Clay Center.  You may contact their office (Friendship Meals) at 785-632-5767.
